This paper analyzes the existing system of protecting the interests of Russian indigenous minority peoples carrying on their traditional way of life during resource extraction on their territories. The research is supported by interviews of representatives of indigenous minority peoples carrying on their traditional way of life and the personal impressions of the author obtained during a trip to the Russian North. The author draws independent conclusions and offers recommendations to improve and develop the existing system of protecting the interests of Russian indigenous minority peoples carrying on their traditional way of life during resource extraction on their territories.
